Samento is an immune system modulator with strong anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties. Some of the Samento beneficial properties are attributed to the pentacyclic oxindole alkaloids(POAs) are found in the plant. Samento may be as much as 1000 times more effective than Cats Claw because it does NOT contain the tetracyclic oxindole alkaloids (TOAs) that are found in traditional Cats Claw. TOAs disrupt central nervous system function and greatly inhibit the effects of the POAs.
