Health and Nutrition Info

The information on these pages is meant to be an educational resource for information and products that may dramatically improve your health. Our goal is to help people reach better levels of health naturally. Toward that end, we will add factual information on various health issues as time permits so that these pages will continuously evolve.

The ideas presented here are to encourage you to make your own health care decisions based on research and in partnership with a qualified healthcare professional.

Food and Nutrients

Whole Foods

Since nutrition is the number one key to disease prevention, you may want to bookmark this page. The most important, single tip I can give you is to eat your vegetables – all 5 plus servings per day. They hold the key to most vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients. If you are unable to eat as many as you should, take up juicing and/or take a green food supplement. There are several available in the online store .

As time permits, you will see this section grow with more factual, up-to-date information. On occasion, I may disagree with “traditional” medical sources about nutrition. It is my belief the RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance Guidelines) is designed to prevent acute disease rather than promoting optimal health and does not take into consideration current health or lifestyle factors. For instance, the RDA for Vitamin C is only 90mg for adult males. A smoker would deplete their vitamin C daily content with just 4 cigarettes.

On April 29, 2005, the Council for Responsible Nutrition, released an article based on review of scientific literature (95 references), including the controversial meta-analysis of Vitamin E by John Hopkins University. The review indicates Vitamin E is safe at intakes up to 1600 IU daily and Vitamin C is safe at intakes up to 2000 mg daily. The article, entitled "Vitamins E and C are safe across a broad range of intakes," is available on-line at http://www.ajcn.org/cgi/content/full/81/4/736 .

Health Conditions

There are so many sources of information that sometimes it is hard to know what to believe. You may think the same about this website. However, people that know me know that I am passionate about my work and may even think me extreme. Others may not. Success with clients tells me that I am doing something right.

I read continuously about natural health and nutrition and try to balance out fact from fiction/beliefs. Whenever possible, I credit sources of information. Just as a physician does not have the time to stay on top of nutrition news, I do not have time or the knowledge to practice medicine . . . so these pages will always provide health information from a natural health and nutritional point of view versus the traditional medical model.
