Green tea, the oldest form of tea, contains biochemical compounds called polyphenols, which include flavonoids. Flavonoids are antioxidants, which prevent cell damage thought to contribute to more than 50 illnesses. Green tea contains the flavonoid EGCg, a potent antioxidant.

Jarrow Formulas Green Tea is water extracted, produced from fresh leaves that are chopped, rolled, and quickly steamed, a process that retains polyphenols. Jarrow Formulas green tea consists of 50% polyphenols, including 33% catechins. Catechins are flavan monomers, the building blocks of OPCs. OPCs, OligoProanthoCyanidins, are polymers (or chains) of flavans. Catechins are generally more bioavailable and more potent an antioxidant than proanthocyanidins.

Recommended Use:
