Default Burns & Sunburn - reduce inflammation with peppermint oil

Peppermint oil can be highly effective for reducing inflammation in damaged tissue. However it can often sting when applied to a fresh burn. You can try diluting the peppermint oil with lavender oil, in equal parts, and mix in water. Moisten a cloth with the mixture and apply as a compress on the burn. Start with a small area or use more lavender than peppermint at first.

Once the burn has started to heal, peppermint can be applied with minimal discomfort. Apply over a sealed burn to decrease inflammation and speed healing.
