Isothiocyanates and Sulfurophane:
Isothiocyanates and sulfurophane are chemical compounds found in high concentrations in cruciferous vegetables, including broccoli sprouts and cabbage sprouts. These chemical compounds are well researched and highly effective mediators of phase I and phase II detoxification enzymes in the body, offering cellular protection from the damaging effects of environmental carcinogens and xenoestrogens (synthetic estrogens found in the environment proven to cause hormone sensitive cancers).

Diindolylmethane (DIM):
DIM is another chemical compound naturally occurring in cruciferous vegetables that effectively maintains hormone balance and works together with isothiocyanates and sulfurophane to protect the body from the damaging effects of xenoestrogens. Cell Guardian modulates the 5-alpha-reductase mediated DHT (dihydrotestosterone) pathway often involved in prostate cancer and PCOS, primarily through the actions of DIM (diindolemethane). DIM also promotes healthier estrogen metabolism by preventing the receptor binding of stronger more stimulating estrogens. DIM induces Phase I and II enzymes involved in carcinogen metabolism. They shift metabolism to the 2-hydroxylation excretory pathway of estradiol and not the 16-a-hydroxylation excretory pathway, which contains 17-Keto metabolites that are more strongly estrogenic.

Pomegranate extract offers the richest source of the polyphenol ellagic acid, which is regarded as a highly potent antioxidant.
